Ultimate Para Sports Association is a charitable organization providing multi-sport opportunities for
people with disabilities in Calgary and surrounding areas for over 30 years. We focus on para cycling and
para-Nordic skiing, but also provide support in wheelchair racing and para-alpine skiing. We offer adapted
sports equipment, scheduled training sessions, instruction and coaching in a motivational environment.
We have approximately 100 members, and one other part time employee.
 

We are looking for a Para Sports Coordinator who is versatile, self-driven, creative, well organized and
solution oriented. Our Para Sports Coordinator will primarily be responsible for recruiting people with
disabilities to participate in sport, marketing and assisting with programming.

 

Roles and Duties

• Oversee and coordinate programs; planning, execution and evaluation

• Marketing; maintain a marketing calendar, operate social media, create newsletters and flyers, update website (with assistance from volunteer software engineer)

• Manage volunteers and provide volunteer training (with assistance from volunteer coordinator)

• Organize Try It events twice annually

• Coordinate and maintain equipment inventory

• Grant writing and reporting

• Fundraising

 

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills, working with individuals, and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills

• Strong communicational skills, both written and verbal

• Strong knowledge of social media and other marketing platforms/software

• Valid Driver's License

• Mandatory background check

• Experience in instruction, leading and organizing groups of people an asset

• Experience in adapted physical activity, para sports and sports for people with disabilities an asset

• Experience in marketing an asset

• Experience in non-profit/charitable sector an asset

 

Renumeration/Benefits

• $25 000 – 30 000/year
